Disney Days, Part 1

A more feminine take on Merida and her closeness to nature.

Katelyn is an actress and  professional singer extraordinaire! She has the bubbly and outgoing personality that just lights up a room! A few months ago, she reached out and sent me an email explaining how she was moving into the area with her husband who is in the military (totally relatable) and she has seen my work and would love to do some styled sessions during their time here. I’m always excited to do styled sessions, so of course I said yes! Kate had this great vision of doing a different Disney theme for each session. Merida from Brave, Ariel from the little mermaid, Alice in Wonderland--even some villains!

Obviously it would be only just be ever so slightly difficult to try and fit all of these themes into one session. So, we are planning on breaking it all up into multiple days over the course of a few months. That way it would give us both something creative and fun to look forward to and also give us time to plan and assemble.

This first session is a combination of a few themes. We did Toy Story, Brave, and Up. I know what you’re thinking, “Up isn’t Disney, it’s Pixar”. Which is true, but we couldn’t resist the idea of doing it, and I’m so glad we did! Katelyn was so excited  during the whole session, and I’m so happy with how it all turned out. I can’t wait to do our other sessions!

Picnic Time

Katelyn brought along her adorable picnic basket set that was perfect for this Up themed session!

We decided to put a Mother Nature twist on some of these Merida shots, and they turned out great! All we needed was a blue silk sheet!
