Becky & Logan's Deep Woods Commitment Ceremony
My sister asked me to be in her commitment ceremony…AND to photograph it. Since she is my sister, I couldn’t say no - and especially since I knew it’d be a beautiful, fun day, I was beyond excited for it.
Their ceremony was set in the deep woods, so far in that there was no address, and you had to drive on dirt roads for a while before you arrived. There was no electricity or running water, so we had to bring in generators for lights and music, and there was one outhouse for all of us to share. But the camping-feel of the weekend felt so perfect for our family and the vibe Logan & Becky wanted.
Despite only doing a few hours of coverage, we got a lot packed in, photography-wise. We did all of the portraits, bridal party shots, and reveals done in the hour before the ceremony, then did a few family shots, the first dances, and cake cutting in a couple of hours. It felt like such a natural extension of who they are - from the dragon ball details on their outfits, to the BBQ menu, to the excellent choice for a smore’s bar for dessert - and it was just an incredible day.
